Chinese culture emphasizes the harmony of Yin and Yang—meaning balance—a spirit perfectly embodied in Chinese culinary culture. As the vessel for dishes, a restaurant must uphold this spirit, providing diners with the most perfect gastronomic experience. This project aims to create a brand-new dining space for a long-established local restaurant, echoing the owner's craftsmanship and blending the misty rain of classical southern China with the creative flair of Taiwanese cuisine into a delicious feast. The designer drew inspiration from the style of Suzhou, China, extracting the essence of Chinese aesthetics and skillfully applying it to the space. The building's exterior retains the original structure, incorporating Chinese architectural features to transport visitors to the misty, rainy Jiangnan region thousands of miles away. The space is dominated by calm and deep color tones, creating a quiet and stable atmosphere, while large wooden furniture evokes the long-standing tradition of craftsmanship.
